Summary:
Direct the work of the claims team to ensure timely, accurate and fair resolution of claims for loss or damage while maintaining customer satisfaction
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct the work of the claims team to ensure timely, accurate and fair resolution of claims for loss or damage
Develop and maintain process improvement practices to streamline operations and improve efficiencies, including strategic outsourcing and sharing of work load
Assist with the development of new standards and methods to increase efficiency to reduce claims expenses, solve problems, etc
Evaluate claim inspectors and repair service providers for cost efficiency and quality of work
Monitor claim subrogation processes to assure recovery of costs from other parties, and prevent paying money to other parties where no liability exists
Investigates escalated customer complaints and provides resolution; communicates with customers via phone or email
Provide timely reports and feedback at claims prevention and reduction
Oversee coordination between government services and Suddath accounting functions of payables and receivables, including internal chargeback processes

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills required.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Deep and demonstrable understanding of MoversSuite, GMMS, Great Plains, Suddath Works, and the internal practices of SGS Accounting required.

There is little or no travel required for this position.
