The Technical Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the products delivered by the scrum team. The Technical Product Owner articulates clear goals for a product, manages value delivery and prioritization, and provides a single point of contact to represent the needs of integration partners, stakeholders, and the scrum team in articulating what needs to be done to achieve the product goals. The Technical Product Owner works with other Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure core business capabilities are consistently represented across Dent Wizard’s product portfolio.

As a Technical Product Owner, your essential job functions will include the following:

Maximizing Value of the Product

  • Researching customer needs and technical implementation requirements
  • Contribute strategies, performance objectives and measurements
  • Analyze and communicate delivered performance against objectives

Managing Value Delivery

  • Contributing to product roadmap
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to write user stories and acceptance criteria for products with technical integration needs
  • Creating and clearly communicating product backlog items.
  • Setting, prioritizing, and accepting work generated by the team to maximize the value delivered to the users
  • Working with the Scrum team to define when work is ready to begin 
  • Ensure product is built in accordance with Dent Wizard’s architecture and standard technical stack
  • Participate in feature development and delivery as needed
  • Ensure testing plans are in place and executed

Communicate Product Vision

  • Representing users and stakeholders, and communicating their values and perspectives
  • Acting primary contact for stakeholders, Scrum teams, and senior leadership
  • Advocating for solutions to strategic needs
  • Ensuring product deliverable meet objectives as outlined by users and stakeholders

Manage the Product Backlog

  • Creating, defining, and communicating a list of features
  • Ordering Product Backlog items and resolving conflicting priorities and technical dependencies
  • Ensuring that pending work items are ready for execution
  • Ensuring that developed work items are ready for publication
  • Ensuring that use patterns are clearly documented for a technical audience
  • Ensuring that the Product Backlog is transparent, visible, and understood

Ensuring the enduring value of products

  • Owning and publishing business performance metrics for products with technical users
  • Establishing support processes in collaboration with the Product Operations Specialist
  • Acting primary contact for known issues and potential enhancements

Other Duties as Assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant years of work experience required; Computer Science Degree preferred. 
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience required.
  • Experience managing stakeholder, client, or vendor relationships preferred.
  • Product Owner experience preferred.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred. 
  • Great translator: able to speak the language of technology and of business teams required.
  • Excellent presentation skills: comfortable presenting to senior leadership required.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to see and explain the big picture.

Physical Demands:

  • Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Travel as necessary (<20%).

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

The starting compensation is expected to be:

$84,000.00 - $90,000.00/ year
