The Pharmacy Technician performs department administrative functions that do not require the Pharmacy Managers judgment. Responsible for the administrative and clerical support directly involved with the day-to-day operations of the multiple programs performed by the department. Performs assigned tasks to meet AHP HMO and Pharmacy Department goals.

What You’ll Do:
As a vital part of our Pharmacy Department, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting daily operations of pharmacy programs and assisting with audits and projects.
  • Making high-volume outbound calls to members, prescribers, and pharmacies as part of our Adherence Program.
  • Helping members refill medications and contacting prescribers for maintenance drug refills.
  • Drafting reports, correspondence, and documentation to support compliance and oversight.
  • Coordinating with our Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) on prior authorizations, overrides, and issue resolution.
  • Troubleshooting prescription rejections and assisting pharmacies with claims issues to ensure CMS compliance.
  • Answering inquiries from members, providers, and pharmacies about formularies, benefits, and drug information.
  • Collaborating across departments to ensure timely, accurate, and confidential handling of member information in compliance with HIPAA.
What You Bring to the Table:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Pharmacy Technician License
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with phone-based, high-volume environments
  • Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting
Preferred:
  • Associate's Degree in Pharmacy Technology or completion of a Pharmacy Tech training program
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Experience in a healthcare or pharmacy setting
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Chinese

Pay Range: $41,472.00 - $62,208.00

Pay range may be based on a number of factors including market location, education, responsibilities, experience, etc.
