Summary:

Queens Ballpark Company is seeking a skilled and dependable Engineer to join our team at Citi Field, home ballpark of the New York Mets. This is a union position responsible for maintaining, operating, and repairing critical building systems, with a primary focus on HVAC and refrigeration. The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient but also a reliable team player who communicates clearly and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

What You Bring (Required Qualifications):

  • Licenses & Certifications:

    • EPA 608 Universal Technician Certification (CFC Universal)

    • Ability to obtain the NYC Refrigerating Machine Operators Certificate (RMO)

    • Ability to obtain the following COF’s (Certificate of Fitness) issued by FDNY S12, S13, S14, S95, G60, and F60

  • Technical Skills:

    • Demonstrated experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment

    • Skilled in the maintenance and repair of walk-in refrigerator boxes and freezers

    • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues independently or with a team

    • Knowledge of proper refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging procedures

    • Proficient in soldering and brazing techniques

    • Ability to read wiring diagrams and effectively use a multimeter

    • Comfortable working from aerial lifts and platforms

    • Experience managing parts inventory

  • Work Expectations:

    • Available to work overtime and respond to occasional emergency calls

    • Able to follow rules, regulations, and established protocols

    • Responsible for communicating progress or delays in assigned tasks

    • Capable of submitting accurate reports and documenting completed work orders

    • Anyone who is hired who remains employed for a period of at least 30 days will be required to become a member of the union
