The Development & Special Events Intern supports the planning and execution of high-impact donor and corporate engagement events-such as Charity Ball, Classic on the Green, Boutique for Hope, cultivation, and stewardship events-while contributing to fundraising operations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Event Planning & Logistics

  • Learn how special events fit into the development program.
  • Assist with timelines, run‑of‑show, floor plans, and vendor coordination.
  • Support guest lists, RSVPs, seating charts, name badges, and check‑in prep.
  • Assist in event logistical preparations.
  • Attend special events and assist with registration, set-up and tear-down.

Communications & Marketing

  • Draft event emails, social posts, and web updates.
  • Support content for invitations and sponsor spotlights.
  • Create/update event web pages.
  • Create online payment links for events (using Raiser’s Edge).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends.

Preferred

  • Experience with event planning or fundraising.
  • Basic design skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • 10–20 hours/week; additional during event weeks.
  • On-site with possible hybrid days.
  • Some evening/weekend events.
  • May 1, 2026, 112th Charity Ball Event
  • May 26-May 30, 2026: Boutique for Hope Event
  • August 17, 2026: Classic on the Green
