Job Description:
The Director, Communications serves as a key secondary communications and content planning and generation lead for football while also acting as the primary strategic communications contact for men’s lacrosse or other programs pending experience and staffing alignment. In partnership with Football’s creative team and Athletics’ broader external relations staff, this role develops and executes integrated content and communications strategies that elevate Ohio State Football and Athletics’ brand and enhance revenue-generating initiatives across platforms. Beyond producing written, visual, and digital content for ohiostatebuckeyes.com and social media channels, this position will assist the primary football contact with game notes, interview prep and generation, awards promotion and strategy and other annual materials (i.e. game programs, media guide, bios). Assists in the coordination and administration of daily activities for the Athletic Communications office. Works with other areas within the external relations division including creative service, marketing, and development to execute the athletics department public relations plan and strategies. Represents Athletics Communications at department, campus, and other meetings as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 4 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
