The Ohio State University at Newark seeks a Clinical Track Practice Professional (CTPP) faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to teach Education courses and to oversee professional development for field supervisors. Responsible for facilitation of in-class learning activities, assessments (i.e., quizzes, exams, and homework if applicable), offering of weekly office hours, submission of grades, and resolution of any ongoing student or course issues.

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - faculty positions within the university that are not tenure track and not eligible for tenure; on a fixed term contract.   Persons with the title of professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, assistant professor-clinical and instructor-clinical. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty department and, as appropriate, regional campus; Clinical faculty are teacher/practitioners and will be engaged primarily in teaching activities.  These faculty normally have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field or equivalent experience.

Performance Objectives 

Teaching: Develop and deliver courses in formats that could include in classroom, online, or hybrid.  Contribute to the creation and improvement of course content.

Service: To include service to the program and to the Newark campus, such as committee work.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: PhD or equivalent.  Experience teaching Primary Education courses at the post-secondary level at a regional campus; familiarity and experience with state licensure requirements; understanding of the unique needs of regional and non-residential students.  

Desired: Familiarity with The Ohio State University’s curriculum and Primary Education major.  Interest and experience in working with first year students and representing the campus and EHE program at first year student orientations.

Additional Information

The budget for this position is up to $65,000.00 - $70,000.00. The offer for this position will be based on internal equity and the candidate's qualifications
