Responsible for daily procurement of materials, equipment, and services as required for assigned commodities or projects as applicable. Lead in the development of the professional buyer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for daily procurement of materials, equipment, and services as required for assigned commodities or projects as applicable.
  • Lead in the development of the professional buyer.
  • Procure material as requested, making applicable independent commercial decisions within established authority limits by utilizing available on-line computer inquiry functions in SAP, and other professional services.
  • Interface with office and rig personnel regarding their requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all items in capital spares inventory are utilized effectively.
  • Ensure that all purchases of repairs, services and third-party charges comply with Noble’s policies and procedures, as well as rig standardization guidelines.
  • Ensure that all purchases of repairs and services comply with equipment repair standards, as well as Noble’s terms and conditions.
  • Ensure all warranty terms are appropriate.
  • Ensure all applicable discounts are taken.
  • Record repaired capital equipment, services and third-party charges in accordance with policy in the company’s financial records.
  • Monitor and report to management any vendor deficiencies, to achieve and reinforce a high level of vendor performance.
  • Conduct vendor assessments in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Resolve vendor invoicing and shipment discrepancies through research in SAP inquiry functions and negotiate acceptable commercial resolutions.
  • Leverage Noble’s purchasing position.
  • Direct vendor reduction efforts to focus purchasing efforts.
  • Lead in the development of the professional buyer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering or a related field and 60 months of experience in any occupation with experience in supply chain management in the offshore industry.
  • Must have experience with European ERP system, IFS, experience in end-to-end purchasing of equipment, parts, rentals, services, and supplies for offshore drilling rigs, and purchasing experience with Brazilian suppliers.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 10% domestic, international and offshore travel.
