Job Description:

This position manages the operational and administrative aspects of an Intermountain Children’s Behavioral Health function, program or specialty, including supervision of the care coordination team. The Children’s Behavioral Health Operations Manager will work closely with the Director of Children’s Behavioral Health Clinical Operations to ensure smooth workflows, efficient scheduling, and effective onboarding and training programs. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to provide high-quality, integrated behavioral health services to our patients and community.

  • Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. This team operates 7 days a week and selected leader may need to respond to needs.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements strategies to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of a Children’s Behavioral Health functions and programs.
  • Monitors and analyzes operational performance metrics, including productivity measures, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
  • Collaborates with Children’s Behavioral Health clinical leadership to align operational goals with clinical objectives.
  • Designs, implements, and continuously improves business operational workflows for patient intake, assessment, treatment planning, and follow-up, in collaboration with Children’s Behavioral Health leadership.
  • Identifies and resolves barriers in service delivery. Develops and manages efficient scheduling processes and systems for behavioral health providers and support staff.
  • Develops and maintains on-boarding and training programs for new and existing staff on operational procedures, workflows and systems, in collaboration with Children’s Behavioral Health leadership. Coordinates ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Supports the delivery of Children’s Behavioral Health care coordination, ensuring effective care for patients with complex behavioral health needs.
  • Manages team of behavioral health care coordinators.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated understanding of behavioral health operations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, quality improvement and project management
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication and leadership skills and experience
  • Three years of experience in Behavioral Health leadership preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, social work or related field from an accredited institution preferred. Degree will be verified.

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. 
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. 
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc. 
  • May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts. 
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$38.55 - $59.49
