The Injection Molding Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of the injection molding manufacturing operations consistent with cost, profit and productivity objectives

Job Summary

Deckorators is seeking a highly motivated Injection Molding Manager to lead and optimize our injection molding operations. This role is responsible for overseeing production processes, driving efficiency, ensuring product quality, and leading a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in injection molding, strong leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement to support our company’s manufacturing goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute production schedules for injection molding operations, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce scrap, and optimize cycle times.
  • Oversee machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Lead and develop a team of supervisors, lead operators, and production staff, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage material flow, and coordinate with procurement to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Establish and maintain quality control standards, working closely with QA teams to ensure compliance with specifications and industry regulations.
  • Analyze production data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure all operations comply with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to drive innovation and operational excellence.
  • Prepare and present reports on production performance, cost management, and efficiency metrics to leadership.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a injection molding supervisor or equivalent role in injection molding.
  • Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes, mold setup, troubleshooting, and materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERP systems.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret manufacturing data to drive process improvements.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience with injection molding machines, tooling, and maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
