The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University seeks an experienced professional to teach an upper-level undergraduate course in mass communication law. The successful candidate will teach one course per semester on First Amendment law, libel, privacy, obscenity, contempt, copyright, trademark, the Federal Communications Act, and laws affecting advertising, legal publication, and other business activities of the media.
Adherence to programmatic goals and curriculum objectives is required, as the school is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC).
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Master’s degree in related field or Master’s of Law degree
Two years of professional experience in advertising, public relations, journalism, sports media, or legal practice.
Juris Doctor degree
Demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education;
Demonstrated additional professional experience beyond the required amount in advertising, journalism, public relations, sports media, or legal practice.
