Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrate project management skills in communications, leading projects from initial intake to final delivery while ensuring deadlines are met and objectives align with strategic goals.

Experience in digital communication, with a focus on creating content and managing social media channels and email campaigns for businesses or organizations.

Skilled in developing content tailored to specific audiences, including current and prospective students, faculty and staff, and alumni.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) with experience applying these tools in a professional graphic design setting.

Strong ability to create visual and written materials that adhere to established brand standards.

Job Description:

Summary
The College of Health and Human Sciences is seeking a Communications Specialist II with experience in communications, content creation, basic graphic design, and project management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and partners across the college.

Example of Duties

•Produces, edits and reviews content in a variety of formats for distribution to target audiences.
• Reviews and/or edits layouts, drafts, and information in order to check for content, readability, and style.
• Works on internal and external communications projects, including website updates, media management, and writing of press releases.

• Conducts the required research and analysis to prepare presentations and scripts/speeches for management.
• Provides general customer relations information to clients or customers, usually not dealing with sensitive subject matter.
• Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining internal and external policies and programs to ensure that the organization is represented positively to the media, the general public, and stakeholders including media relations, government and regulatory liaison, company branding, events management, and internal employee communications.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues

• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
• Provides guidance to students
