Job Summary:

Assists pharmacists following established procedures and policies. Prepares and admixes sterile pharmaceutical products in a highly controlled, regulated, aseptic environment inside ISO 7 rooms and ISO 5 workspaces. Ensures admixtures are completed properly per FDA and Current Good Manufacturing practices (cGMP) requirements. Responsible for managing product inventory and supplies and is expected to maintain a highly organized cleanroom.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Prepare IV as admixtures for batch compounding of routine items.  
  • Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed. 
  • Participates in cleanroom product preparation prior to sterile filling. 
  • Verifies materials for use in batch compounding. 
  • Packages product in IV Bags, cartons, syringes, vials, overwraps. Labels and documents per written instructions. 
  • Replenishes packaging materials to areas/work cells as directed. 
  • Completes end of batch reconciliation and count verification. 
  • Retrieves product samples. 
  • Maintains manufacturing records and completes all required documentation in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing practices (cGMP), FDA, US pharmacopeia (USP) and pharmacy state board regulatory guidelines. 
  • Operates and monitors technical computerized compounding/filling equipment ensuring quality standards are maintained. 
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION 

  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

EXPERIENCE 

  • Two years' experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
