This role holds the responsibility of weekend and holiday track. This posting is for 11a-11p.

Pay Range

$22.50 - $33.75

Major Responsibilities: Coordinates interfacility transfers 1)Takes initial demographic information from Referring Facilites on all patients. 2)Follows protocols and plans established related to the collaboration with the TTCC RN/RCP for the coordination of the remainder of the transfer. 3)Maintains constant communication with the Clinical Bed Management, ICU charge RNs, and alternative site leads in regards to the current bed availability. 5)Collaborates with CBM bed reservations and with Patient Access about pre-admit process. 6)Request ground vehicles for Transport Team 7)Request air transportation for Transport Team 8)Accurately takes clinical information and facilitates physican to phyisican communicaiton on on Floor Status patients. 4)Ensures receiving units have appropriate summaries and information on incoming patients. 9)Recongizes ICU/ED status patients and tranfers call to Transfer Center RN for the clinical information and phyisican to physician conversations. Provides clerical support 1)Inputs information in Central Logic, Midas, and other software systems and runs required reports, as directed. 2)Enters data into logs and tabulates results, as directed 3)Maintains and orders department supplies, as needed. 4)Monitors function of department equipment in TTCC. 5)Sends required documentation to Referral Hospitals. 6)Completed other secretarial support as directed. Safety and quality 1)Updates weather alerts and traffic alerts on routine basis and post in unit. 2)Monitors ground vehicles via tracking device during all legs of the transfer process to ensure team safety. 3)Ensures crew emergency forms are up to date and available if needed. 4)Abreast on the PIAP plan and understands duties as assigned. 5)Performs other assigned duties related to team safety and quality. Responsible for professional growth. 5 % 1)Adheres to department policies and procedures 2)Attends and participates in staff meetings on a regular basis. 3)Participates in 5 Contact hours related to role on an annual basis. Education/Experience Required: High school graduate or equivalent 3 years previous healthcare experience plus 2 years recent experience as a Paramedic (focus on Pediatrics, preferred) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Excellent personal skills Good communication skills both verbal and written Basic computer skills Ability to type approx 30 words a minute. Licensed paramedic in Illinois BLS certifiied Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must be able to speak clearly and communicate in professional manner both verbally and in writing regarding the subject of the call or inquiry. Ability to build rapport and develop trust with caller/patient. Duties are performed with upbeat –can do positive voice tone and attitude for effective, quality, safe and compassionate care for caller/patient. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting and staying focused on callers need with use of voice, eye, wrist, hands and fingers for operation of computer and telephonic processes. Reach and stretch above and below shoulder level. Some pushing/pulling. Kneeling, bending may be required. ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES: Must possess aptitude for learning and use of critical thinking with problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing work and adapting to diverse routines and situations that require change. Possess strong abilities to maintain a sense of urgency as well as to respond quickly to emergency situations in a calm well organized manner following procedures and policies to provide timely facilitation of care plan/transfer/referral with focus on best outcome for the caller/ patient. ESSENTIAL SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Frequent need for hearing acuity, eye/hand/finger dexterity and articulate communication with a clear positive telephone voice and delivery of speech. Distinguish color for use of multiple indicators in computerized placement programs. EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS: Exposure to General Office Environment. Ability to work flexible hours to provide staffing for the department, which is open twenty-four (24) hour per day, seven (7) days per week program Ability to lift 10 # frequently.
