If so, the Dean of Students Office at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a First Scholars Program Coordinator! This position will be classified as a Student Services Specialist II.
What You'll Do:
Develop and deliver programs supporting first-generation and low-income student success.
Coordinate workshops, events, and outreach activities.
Monitor participation and gather feedback for program improvement.
Implement outreach strategies and organize promotional events.
Collaborate with student organizations, campus units, and community partners.
Provide guidance, advising, and referrals for academic success and resources.
Maintain student records and assist with curriculum development.
Co-facilitate First Cyclones courses (UST 1020, UST 2050).
Assist with scholarship and grant selection and awarding processes.
Build partnerships with faculty, staff, and external organizations.
Serve on committees and contribute to student success initiatives.
Support budget management, grant writing, and fundraising efforts.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Level Guidelines
• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
• Provides guidance to students
