What You'll Need:

  • High School diploma required.
  • APCO Certification (Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials international) within 6 months of Hire.

What You'll Do:

  • Receives calls from Medical Center 6-9111 emergency line and follows all associated protocols and checklists to ensure effective response to emergencies.
  • Dispatches Security personnel to scene as requested by customers to ensure effective and prompt response.
  • Must be able to extract and input data from multiple software platforms as related to transfer and entry of dispatch information.
  • Monitors the Closed-Circuit-TV Camera System for suspicious activity or emergencies and dispatches personnel as needed to ensure prompt response to problems.
  • Monitors equipment panel abnormalities and ensures prompt response to incidents.
  • Ensures that all monitoring equipment is in working order and reports deficiencies to the most appropriate source for any repairs. Monitors all emergency equipment and sends appropriate staff to ensure situation is handled effectively and to document the occurrence.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for professional development by participating in department education programs and department or hospital activities.
  • Provides age/developmentally appropriate assistance in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
  • Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. Performs duties in a manner designed to project a positive image of the Medical Center.
