Job Summary

Responsible for developing and maintaining a referral relations program by promoting clinic physician services and other services to external medical professionals (referral sources).

Monitors staff communication with referral sources.

Facilitates communication between clinic physicians and referral sources.

Education

High School Diploma or GED General Studies Required

Certifications, Licensures and Registrations Credential

CMA/RMA/NCCT Preferred

Experience

2+ Customer Service in Healthcare Setting preferred

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic computer skills required

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to perform multiple tasks and work independently

Ability to develop and maintain professional, service-oriented working relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers and supervisors

Ability to understand and comply with policies and procedures.

Job Specific Duties

Coordinates and facilitates physician/consumer relations and customer service activities

Communicates and responds to customer needs in a professional, positive manner building credibility and rapport with all contacts. Communicates new information related to all clinical services and referral protocols for Regional Physicians

Receives, researches and completes, in a timely manner, all inquiries and requests ensuring optimum customer satisfaction. Assumes ownership of each transaction. Maintains high level of accuracy in all data collection and entry, appropriately following through and documenting the interaction.

Employs a systematic approach in problem solving; makes decisions based on thoughtful analysis of the situation, and evaluation of the alternatives. Provides documentation as needed.

Demonstrates professional telephone technique with strong focus on communication style and knowledge of Regional Physicians to include its partners and affiliates.

Maintains professional standards by participating in orientation, training and seminars. Remains current on changes in policies and protocols

Upholds a professional working relationship at all times and adheres to department rules. Practices teamwork and adheres to Standards of Behavior.

Physical and Behavioral Requirements

Occasional stooping, standing, kneeling, and crawling

Frequent sitting, walking, and reaching

Medium physical force is required (exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects)

Visual acuity to accurately enter and view information via the computer

Ability to hear and speak is required to effectively communicate with the public in person and via the telephone

Manual finger dexterity for chart preparation, answering telephone, assisting patients, and accurately type information
