Job Description:

Role covers a broad range of activities including:

  • Plan, supervise and execute activities in shift/day operations for performing experiments on bench scale, intermediate scale and pilot-scale process units

  • Able to perform maintenance operations on the bench-scale plant in compliance with the site HSSE regulations, also including documentation requirements

  • Performing start up, steady state and shut down activities, diagnose equipment performance and relay the information to activity lead, Recommend and maintain preventative maintenance or repairs schedule for process unit.

  • Sample preparation for analysis and regular analytical testing and updating of results in data base management system

  • Management of spares for smooth operation and minimum downtime

  • Prepare, review, standard operating procedures, Job Hazard Analysis, Task Risk Assessment, Management Of Change, etc.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and demonstrate improvement via implementation of the same

  • Contribute to effective functioning of the team through appropriate individual contribution, team working and communication behavior

  • Display creativity in finding non-standard solutions, and show keenness to innovate

What we need from you?

When it comes to working in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, chemists, product specialists and diverse stakeholders, excellent people skills will be a key differentiator. A highly motivated will have a direct impact on the way we contribute to the group and Shell overall.  Furthermore, you will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in one of the relevant technologies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry

  • Hands on experience with conducting bench scale and intermediate scale chemical reactions and good laboratory practices.

  • Running of pilot plants, other (semi-) continuous units, or other experimental units (including end-application equipment) is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with installation, calibrating, running and maintaining analytical equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to generate, manage and communicate quality data.

  • Experience in process development and understanding of application.

  • Hands-on experience with polyurethane recycling and its application is a big plus.

  • Should have excellent communication skills both oral and written
