Shifts are 630a-3p with every other weekend and two holidays. No Call.

Pay Range

$18.50 - $27.75

Major Responsibilities: Assist in preparing patients for radiology exams. 1)Accompanies patients to dressing rooms when necessary and helps them change into appropriate clothing. 2)Assist patient in securely storing personal belongings during exams. 3)Coordinates the flow of patients into and out of the department in accordance with established departmental procedures, to ensure proper sequence of scheduled exams. 4)Secures history from patient regarding reason for prescribed tests and records an appropriate form. 5)Review patients order and all paperwork necessary to perform exam. 6)Order exam in Radnet. 7)Maintains confidentiality of patient records. Monitors work volumes and notifies the appropriate modality of back logs. Ensure high quality of customer service for patients, patients families, associates, physicians and other departments. 5)Demonstrates couteous behavior through polite and respectful communication with all associates and customers. 6)Recognizes when others are in need of assistance and consistently offers to help when possible. 1)Greet all patients, families and others in a friendly, positive, professional manner. Keeps patients and families as to the reason for any delays. 2)Maintain eye contact and a pleasant facial expression during all conversations 3)Reflect the concept of Advocate's MVP in all interactions with patients, visitors and staff, every patient, every time. 4)Maintains positive "guest relations" and telephone etiquette following prescribed departmental policies and procedures. Provide clerical support. 1)Answer phone calls in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent patient service. 2)Print requisitions 3)Match requisitions and physician's orders 4)Ensure all required documentation is available for exam Provide safe and clean enviroment for patient care, based on patient age and developemental status. 1)Assist staff in stocking supplies, and linen. Empties linen hampers as needed. 2)Assist staff in performing quality checks on oxygen tanks. 3)Assist staff in maintaining clean and safe work area. 4)Adherence to all accepted safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety. Education/Experience Required: High School graduate 6 months to 1 year experience in health care Ability to acquire transporting skills within three months Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Good communication skills Excellent customer service skills Medical terminology skills CPR certification within 3 months. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to lift and/or move patients May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases Ability to perform lifting/transfer activities related to patients. Heavy lifting: Lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly. Ability to work rotating shifts any day of the week This position can recognize needs and behaviors of the following age groups: pediatric (newborn, toddler, and school-age), adolescent, adult, and older adult. Evidence of this can be shown by recognizing levels of development and modifying approach and exhibiting communication skills necessary to interpret age specific responses. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
