Job Title: Administrator

Department: Information Technology

About the Role:

We have an opening in the Information Technology Department for a Systems Administrator. The System Admin team is responsible for the IT server and computer system infrastructure across the enterprise including: Hy-Vee’s retail, corporate, subsidiary, distribution, and manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will excel at obtaining results in a fast paced environment, have excellent problem solving and communication skills, and can connect technology to real-world business challenges.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer and document all aspects of Active Directory.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and administrator for the local Certificate Authority.

  • Collaborate with the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team to configure and document GPOs.

  • Promote and implement automation through PowerShell and other scripting tools.

  • Administer and maintain the company’s LDAP servers and associated third-party applications.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support to the Hy-Vee IT Help Desk.

  • Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation in the team’s knowledge base.

  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues as they arise across the environment.

  • Participate in the on-call support rotation

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:

  • Proven experience administering Microsoft technologies.

  • Strong background in managing Active Directory, GPOs, domain trusts, and Active Directory Sites and Services.

  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Enterprise Certificate Authority.

  • Proficiency in administering Windows operating systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues in complex, enterprise-scale environments.

  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or equivalent.

  • Strong resourcefulness, analytical thinking, and problem-solving aptitude.

Education and Experience:

  • A degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or equivalent work experience is required.

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of hands-on experience working with Enterprise Devices Management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
  • Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
