Shell is looking for a two (2) Commissions Analyst who will manage the comprehensive end-to-end processing of commission plans and sales incentive payment calculations for all brokers. This position requires strong self-management to ensure the accurate and timely completion of tasks that impact reporting and the data integrity of the Commissions department.
The ideal candidates must be detail oriented, possess excellent analytical and communication skills, and be comfortable taking initiative to solve problems and drive greater efficiency and process automation. Reporting to the Commissions Team Lead, these roles require self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individuals with the ability to perform well under pressure.
Accountabilities:
Administer and manage day-to-day operations of our broker compensation plans, ensuring payments are accurate/timely and paid in accordance with plan provisions
Monitor contracts and deals across all systems that affect commissions to ensure our data remains in sync
Maintain proper documentation of the commissions processes and related controls
Serve as a point of contact for brokers to address questions regarding compensation plans, and perform research as needed to help resolve issues, and develop appropriate solutions to resolve exception payment requirements
Review and respond to commissions related inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Interact with funding department to streamline broker onboarding process and the posting of payments
Provide cross-functional support to peers and departments to develop satisfactory end-to-end delivery processes and results
Ensure monthly reports are published on time and manage timely provision of ad-hoc reporting needs
Summarize monthly and quarterly commission data and submit to leadership team
Diagnose variation in commission data and make necessary amendments
Drive process and system improvements in the commissions arena or areas that impact commissions team success.
Collaborate and coordinate with cross functional teams on new initiatives, projects, and/or commissions plans

What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Minimum 3 years of experience in the retail energy field, preferred background in commissions or billing
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
Proficient PC skills, intermediate knowledge in MS Excel – experience with macros, Pivot Tables, PowerQuery, and formulas
Independent thinker with a desire to find positive solutions
A meticulous, highly organized, and self-directed approach to work, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing tasks in time-constrained situations.
Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with multiple functions and gain alignment across the organization
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Display a curious and inquisitive nature, asking questions and seeking understanding of the reasons behind processes and decisions
Ability to take initiative to explore new methods and strategies to improve job performance and current processes
What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year. As pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
