Perform maintenance on all county open stormwater conveyance systems and their appurtenances
Restore road right-of-ways and properties relating to stormwater maintenance and repairs
Operate specialized equipment, such as vacuum/jet combination trucks, dump truck, Gradall, backhoes, excavators, arm mowers, and other related equipment required to maintain and repair stormwater conveyance systems and road right-of-way maintenance/construction
Respond to customer complaints relating to stormwater systems, including pipeline, canal, ditch blockages, and erosion control. Issues on and around the road right of way, water quality concerns, and stormwater flow concerns
Complete and submit work orders relating to all work performed in a professional and timely fashion
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or its equivalent
Two (2) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater conveyance systems and /or road right-of-way areas
Must be able to acquire a Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months from the time of hire
A valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Operation of backhoes, excavators, trenchers, personal computers, and mechanical tools used in the stormwater maintenance industry
Knowledge of current technology in stormwater conveyance systems maintenance practices
** Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years
Starting Pay: $20.10 (Step 1)
Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience
