What’s the role
Sr. Data Scientist is the one who partner in shaping the Business demand and work closely with the Project /Product teams and stakeholders. The Sr. Data Scientist gathers, analyses and models data and key performance indicators to develop quantitative and qualitative business insights. Develops processes and design reports to boost the business intelligence and is good at effectively processing large amounts of data into meaningful information. Works as a natural team member with Project team, Senior Designers, Architects, Data Engineers, Testers, End users etc
Accountabilities:
Collating Business requirements, Analyzing the value drivers and functional requirements, usability and supportability considerations
Perform root cause analysis on Data problems and translate Data requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities and various solution options
Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution during the project lifecycle
Supports in Creating acceptance criteria and validate that solution by testing and ensure it meet business needs
Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their business objectives, constraints, risks, and operating environment
Describe technology in terms easily understood by business customers and set realistic customer expectations for the project outcome. Adjust customer expectations in accordance with changes in scope
Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, willingness to take ownership and resolve technical challenges
Generate innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
7+ years of corporate IT experience
Expertise on Data Analysis techniques and processes. Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets
Experienced in Data Management Framework & practices, Data Quality concepts like data cleansing, mapping
Good understanding of system design, ingestion frameworks & Connection Services
Knowledge of the technology landscape including current and future developments and the most commonly available products and integrated solutions
A skilled communicator capable of speaking to both technical developers, architects, and business stake holders
Good understanding in data foundation initiatives, like data modelling, data quality, data governance, data maturity assessments and data strategy in support of the key business stake holders
Self-motivated, Innovative and team player
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
Nice to have Skills
Knowledge of the Business Intelligence technologies and their relevant functions (reporting, online analytical processing, analytics, data mining, business performance management, benchmarking etc)
CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA certification preferred
Experience of working in a global business environment/different cultures and with global stakeholder
What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $124,000 - $186,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
