What’s the role
The Retail Structurer is accountable for delivering high-quality deal design, pricing analysis, model execution, and data validation that support SES’s commercial performance and deal delivery.
This role ensures fit for purpose deal structuring for strategic customer opportunities.
The individual will partner with originators and ensure accurate valuation of customer opportunities, lead analytical efforts on complex deal structures, and contribute to continuous improvement of commercial strategies and methodologies. Acting as a senior member of the wider Commercial organization, the Retail Structurer provides subject-matter expertise and mentorship to junior team members while ensuring alignment with Shell’s risk, compliance, and governance standards.
Accountabilities:
Lead deal valuation and structuring for Non‑Standard/Bespoke retail opportunities, including analysis of volume, shape, imbalance, and certificate risks.
Aid in customer negotiations.
Build customer‑specific commercial structures (e.g., block‑and‑index blends, multi‑site portfolios, shaped load products, first of kind pricing and risk structures). Structures may allow for future hedging strategies or bring in a customer’s prior executed Renewable supply contracts.
Produce clear economics: expected P&L, sensitivities, downside exposures, and tradeable hedge requirements.
Ensure alignment with governance standards, LoaD principles, and deal entry requirements.
Improve valuation methodologies, documentation, and workflow efficiency across the structuring process. Support system and model enhancements. Much of the learnings of this team may transition over time to implementation in the Pricing Team.
Building a productive commercial relationship with SENA Origination and Trading will be required.
Validate and maintain customer load and data inputs, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with expected usage patterns throughout the pricing cycle.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve data-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and reduce operational risk.
Maintain customer-specific pricing and valuation data within SES reporting and tracking systems, ensuring high-quality documentation and auditability.
Work collaboratively with Sales, Risk, Portfolio Management, and Operations to resolve deal modelling-related issues, support commercial decisions, and ensure consistency in assumptions.
Serve as a subject-matter expert on complex and non-standard pricing, providing advanced analytical support, risk assessment, and structuring guidance for high-impact commercial opportunities.
Lead and contribute to strategic projects, including model redesigns, process automation, and multi-market pricing initiatives that improve accuracy, efficiency, and commercial competitiveness.
Mentor and coach junior Analysts, providing guidance on data validation, analytical techniques, pricing models, and best practices to strengthen team capability.
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance or operations, Master’s degree preferred
4+ years in retail energy, power/gas trading, risk, portfolio analytics, or deal structuring.
Strong analytical and modelling capability; comfort with valuation tools and complex datasets.
Strong understanding of load profiles, hedging, imbalance markets, and risk allocation.
Proven ability to influence across Sales, Trading, Risk, and Commercial leadership.
Clear communicator able to simplify complex concepts for decision‑makers and customers.
Strong business writing skills and experience developing communication in various formats
Strong interpersonal skills
Learner mindset and eye for continuous improvement needs.
Excellent analytical, organization and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a strict level of attention to detail
Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate a vested interest in team goals and objectives

What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $124,000 - $186,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
