Job Description:

What’s the role 

 

The Key Account Manager plays a critical role on the Shell Energy Solutions Support team, overseeing SES’s Platinum Brokers and key Commercial and Industrial accounts. This role works closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to shape and execute marketing strategies that best serve commercial customers, while also managing strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. 

 

Reporting to the Account Management Team Lead, the position requires a self-motivated and dependable professional who thrives in a fast paced environment and consistently performs well under pressure. 

 

Accountabilities: 

  • Cultivate strong relationships with assigned Brokers/Customers and facilitate any cross-selling opportunities with other business lines, e.g., Demand Response, Renewables and Solution Sales 

  • Serve as the single point of contact for all matters related to assigned key Brokers and Customers, e.g., manage on-boarding and renewal activities, maintain accurate client meter list, oversee any changes to existing contract terms, provide required reporting, track enrollment transactions, ensure proper invoices and manage other general inquiries/issue resolution 

  • Develop a thorough understanding of product/service offerings and retail power agreements (Broker agreement, MSA and TCs) 

  • Possess a high-level understanding of market structure for ERCOT, Northeast and CAISO 

  • Provide recommendations and guidance to advance Shell core values and provide industry-leading client experience 

  • Exercise clear judgement in knowing when to escalate high priority or high-risk issues to Sr. Management and when to engage other departments to solve cross-functional problems 

  • Support the ongoing development of Broker engagement and loyalty strategies 

  • Manage all escalated internal/external complaints and issues 

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

What you bring  

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or operations is preferred 

  • At least 10 years of Retail Energy experience, with demonstrated progressive experience directly supporting key broker and customer accounts.Deep experience with the B2B Retail Energy Industry 

  • Knowledge of B2B standard product offerings, such as Fixed, Index, Block & Index and Load-Following products 

  • Knowledge of ERCOT, PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISONE, PUC and/or TDSP/TDU standards 

  • Experience with Intelometryand/or Excelergy (Revenue Manager) billing platforms is a plus 

  • Hands on experience usingSalesforce and IESG’s EDI platform is a plus 

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook and strong Excel skills 

  • Comfortable working in a target-driven and fast-changing environment, and able to respond to changing business needs 

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a strict level of attention to detail 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships 

  • Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance and gain further knowledge 

 

 

What we offer 

 

The base salary range for this position is $103,000 - $155,000 per year As   pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.  

 

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents. 

 

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance.
