What’s the role
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in energy, technology, and a passion to deliver products for a growing company. The Accounts Receivable Representative processes and analyzes accounts receivable transactions.
Reporting to the Accounts Receivable & Collections Team Lead, the role requires self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.
Accountabilities:
Post, verify, and reconcile daily cash receipts with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
Research and resolve complex payment discrepancies; ensure correct application of remittances and adjustments
Set up and maintain customer accounts within accounting systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company standards
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding customer accounts, payment status, balances, and transaction details
Partner with Customer Operations, Billing, and Sales teams to resolve billing issues and improve collections performance
Assist the Manager of Cash Application & Collections in monitoring accounts receivable aging, identifying high-risk accounts, and recommending action plans
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close by preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation
Provide guidance, informal training, and support to Accounts Receivable Representatives; assist with workflow coordination when necessary
Participate in cross-training across cash applications, collections, and reconciliation functions to ensure coverage and operational efficiency
Serve as an escalation point for difficult customer situations requiring problem-solving and sound judgment
Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing errors, improving timeliness, and enhancing customer experience
Perform other duties, special assignments, or projects as required
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
At least 4 years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, or Collections
Prior experience in a senior, lead, or subject-matter expert role preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to delivering timely and accurate financial analysis.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing clear and professional business correspondence
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across teams
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strict attention to detail and accuracy
Team-oriented approach with a strong commitment to contributing to shared goals and objectives
Demonstrates persistence in follow-up, sound decision-making, and strong problem-solving skills
Adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year. As pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
