Job Description:

What’s the role 

 

The B2B Portfolio Lead will be responsible for overseeing risk management, supply procurement, and asset optimization within the power retail and trading sector. This leader will manage a team accountable for pricing, valuation, hedging, and operational excellence to drive profitability and business growth. The position requires substantial experience in power retail or trading, strong risk management capabilities, and the ability to lead and develop high performing teams. 

 

Accountabilities: 

  • Lead and manage an organization of ~30 fulltime FTEs, including 8 direct reports across the Supply, Risk, Fundamentals, Demand Response, and Asset Management & Optimization teams 

  • Direct and oversee all supply and hedging purchases related to retail sales. 

  • Ensure the organization creates all pricing and valuation components for structuring and pricing activities 

  • Optimize intramonth and near-term risk management activities to maximize realized profit and loss (PnL) from customer business, maintainingpositive resultsrelative to modeled expectations. 

  • Manage the organization's gross margin (GM) PnL, with accountability for >$100 million from modeling through to realization 

  • Optimize portfolio strategies across both customers and managed assets, seeking opportunities for improved performance 

  • Collaborate with the Head of Commercial for product development, business performance review, and to drive strategic changes as needed 

  • Successfully build, develop, and retain leaders and team members to ensure stability and ongoing success of the business 

  • Report directly on team structure, performance, and strategic initiatives 

 

 

What you bring  

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 

  • At least 15 years’ experience in power retail, trading, or origination 

  • Proven experience managing and valuing risk within the electricity sector 

  • Experience as a commercial manager is required 

  • Executive-level experience in a retail or trading organization is preferred 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize teams, including determining appropriate FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) levels for business needs 

 

What we offer 

 

The base salary range for this position is $251,000 - $377,000 per year.  As Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.  

 

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents. 

 

Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance.
