What’s the role
The REC Portfolio Management & Supply Lead is responsible for wholesale price and retail position management for regional power exposure. The role will develop into a subject matter expert in specific regional markets, capturing the full retail gross margin and identifying additional profit opportunities within regional terms and cash markets. This position is also accountable for identifying and supporting the development of new opportunities across regional wholesale and retail power markets, as well as monitoring fundamental and regulatory changes that impact these markets.
This is a highly cross functional and cross regional role, where experience in Northeast power markets is a significant requirement. The ideal candidate will manage multiple books and be willing to support cross regional efforts in position exposure and reporting.
Reporting to the B2B Portfolio Lead, the role requires a self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.
Accountabilities:
Front Office Accountabilities:
Execute trading hedges with all wholesale intermediaries
Profitably cover open risk exposures with approved risk management tools
Work with market analytics to build tools/reports to explain/uncover risk and present opportunities
Provide market commentary and insight – as needed, assist with sales presentations and customer interactions
Assist regional price curve creation
Track and manage transferred RECs and optimize the inventory across state RPS programs, market opportunities according to market pricing based on eligibility.
Contribute to sales and contract margin
Set daily REC marks and maintain RPS curves for pricing and revaluation.
Process all REC retirements and generate appropriate State and other regulatory reporting
Mid Office Accountabilities:
Manage contract negotiations & the contract pipeline.
Manage REC registries, REC deliveries, and REC inventory.
Ensure invoices are paid promptly by Accounting and REC Sales are invoiced for RPS & voluntary customers.
Ensure REC revenue is accrued by Accounting for all REC sales.
Back Office Accountabilities:
Assist in generating all Risk, Finance, and operational reporting requirements.
Educate internal team members and external stakeholders
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s degree, Master or Advanced Degree
At least 6 years’ experience in a trading/commercial role, settlement or risk management capacity
Preferred Knowledge of ERCOT, PJM, MISO, NYISO, NEISO and CAISO markets
Knowledge of PUC and/or Utility standards
Analytical mindset demonstrates the ability to solve problems and create practical solutions to overcome problems and mitigate risks.
Comfortable working in a target-driven and fast-changing environment, and able to respond to changing business needs
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook and strong Excel skills
Excellent analytical, organization and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a strict level of attention to detail
Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate a vested interest in team goals and objectives
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance and gain further knowledge

What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $178,000 - $266,000 per year. As Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
