What’s the role
Shell is seeking Demand Response Manager to oversee our Demand Response programs and third-party asset management obligations. This leadership role is critical to the success of our energy retail business and our ability to serve large commercial clients effectively.
This role will report directly to senior management and lead a dedicated team responsible for all aspects of demand response operations, third-party generation asset management, and battery asset management.
Accountabilities:
Direct and manage a team of approximately 5 full-time employees (FTEs) focused on demand response programs and third-party asset management
Oversee the management of third-party generation assets, demand response operations, and battery storage assets
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements across federal, state, and local jurisdictions in the highly complex retail electricity market.
Manage a gross margin P&L of under $10 million, supporting growth opportunities to sell energy to large-scale clients
Collaboration with the Head of Commercial on product development and ongoing assessment of demand response business performance
Navigate the complexities of real-time and asset deployment in all competitive U.S. electricity markets, adapting to region-specific rules and regulations
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s degree required
At least 15 years of experience in power retail or trading and origination
Proven expertise in electricity market operations is required
Experience in electricity asset management is a strong plus
Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and overseeing complex program operations
What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $178,000 - $266,000 per year. As Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
