What’s the role
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in energy and technology, and a passion for delivering products for a growing company. The Pricing Team Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating all pricing strategies while managing the pricing team for the Eastern U.S.
Reporting to the Manager, Pricing and Non-Energy Portfolio, the role requires a self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.
Accountabilities:
Lead and mentor a team of 7-8 Analysts engaged in B2B pricing of electricity offers in the Eastern US
Team responsible for indicative and final pricing for all ERCOT, PJM, NY, NE, MISO customer opportunities. These opportunities equate to our eastern annual delivery scale of 30mln MWh. Accuracy of this pricing is key to SES’s ability to accurately deliver an ongoing $130mln GM annually
Ensure all Pricing and supporting models and processes are kept current; serve as pricing subject expert in all related applications development and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Serve as Pricing point of contact with other internal business units. in ongoing coordination on regulatory, supply, financial, systems and operations issues as they evolve
Maintain current relevant knowledge of ISO market rules, utility tariffs and industry trends, as applicable to load serving entities, and assess their impact on the value of existing and future retail offerings
Coordinate ad hoc analyses and provides relevant strategy insights as needed to company VP’s and/or Executive team; includes targeted modeling, forecasting, and statistical analysis
Ensure that pricing strategies meet financial objectives, sales plans, and corporate margins
Coach team members on performance, conduct employee performance evaluations and guide employees on individual training and professional growth
Develop efficiency/scalability program to increase accuracy and decrease resource intensity as the business grows
Collaborate with Sales and Portfolio to ensure feedback on product and customer complexity
Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination
Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers
Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management
Establish departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor’s degree
At least 8 years of experience, including some prior management experience
Extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be able to provide timely and accurate data analysis
Strong business writing skills and experience developing communication in various formats
Strong interpersonal skills
Learner mindset and eye for continuous improvement needs
Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a strict level of attention to detail
Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate a vested interest in team goals and objectives
Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance and gain further knowledge
Ability to meet deadlines, learn quickly and demonstrate effective problem solving and follow-up skills
Comply with company policies and procedure
What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $124,000 - $186,000 per year. As pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
