Position Overview

The maintenance technician position will perform diverse responsibilities to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, Calibration & Preventative Maintenance processes and to ensure equipment in maintained in a validated state. You will provide both service and support to internal customers. The responsibilities for this position include installation of plant and production equipment, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting/diagnose equipment problems, providing service for unscheduled repairs/maintenance, and help complete equipment qualifications. In our business, it is important you can demonstrate a understanding of the importance of documentation.

Basic Background Requirements

You will need:

  • Experience in Medical Device manufacturing
  • Two year technical degree or 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in troubleshooting technical issues (Electrical & Mechanical)
  • Experience maintaining equipment
  • Experience with equipment qualifications
  • The ability to work with production associates and other technicians or with great independence
  • Maintain general knowledge of the certification and regulatory requirements contained in ISO-13485, and FDA CFR/GMP Medical Device Regulation

Key Performance Objectives

Short Term: (0 to 3 months)

  • Learn KEIND Quality system requirements
  • Build relationships with Engineering and Operations team members
  • Learn Calibration & Maintenance Program
  • Familiarize yourself with processes and equipment
  • Support& maintain equipment
  • Learn and adopt Kimball Electronics philosophies and culture

Midterm: (3 to 6 months)

  • Accountable for maintenance activity
  • Learn ERP system basic job tasks (Create reports & work orders)
  • Have understanding of program and system

Long term: (6 to 12 months)

  • Learn coordinator responsibilities to serve as a back-up
  • Train other production technicians on maintaining equipment
