The System Administrator in the Asset Management department is responsible for managing the lifecycle of IT assets within the organization. This includes procurement, deployment, tracking, and disposal of hardware and software assets. The role ensures compliance with licensing agreements and supports cost-effective asset management practices. The System Administrator is also responsible for administering systems associated with the discovery, reconciliation, compliance, and tracking of IT hardware and software.

* We are seeking a System Administrator to join our team. This role is open to candidates with a range of experience levels. The final level (System Administrator or Senior System Administrator) will be determined based on qualifications, skills, and experience.

** This position is eligible to work hybrid (9 or more days a month onsite) in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.

Compensation

$94,400 - $135,800

  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The salary range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid.  All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive salaries that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations and automation within ServiceNow HAM and SAM modules.
  • Administer software and hardware discovery systems.
  • Administer application reconciliation systems.
  • Develop and maintain IT asset management policies and procedures.
  • Track and manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements.
  • Coordinate with procurement and finance teams for asset acquisition and budgeting.
  • Maintain accurate records of asset inventory and usage.
  • Support audits and reporting related to IT assets.
  • Implement tools and systems for efficient asset tracking and management.
  • Train staff on asset management processes and tools.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of software licensing and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with asset management tools and databases.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

What you need

  • High school or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology required.  2+ years in asset or inventory management preferred.
  • IAITAM certification preferred or must be obtained within 18 months

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must be available to work non-business hours, including weekends, as part of an on-call rotation
