Reporting to: Power Platform Manager

 
Key Goals: 
•    Administration of the Power BI and Power Platform Environments.
•    Develop and maintain Power BI reports and semantic models, applying strong analytical and visualization skills to turn data into insights.
•    Your focus will be split into four areas: 

• o    Administration.

• o    Business Intelligence Development and Data availability.

• o    Research. 

• o    Visualization Design & Development. 

Job Description

Barings’ PowerPlatform team is seeking a Business Intelligence Administrator and Developer to join its team in Romania. You will be an integral part of a fast-paced environment where you will support administration, deployment and creation of BI reporting, promoting design best practices, Develop Power Platform solutions, including Power BI reports, Power Automate Flows and Fabric items (Notebooks, models, Data Lakes and more).

Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Engineering
o    Partner with Enterprise Data Engineers to design queries and model tabular datasets for Power BI Premium
o    Assist Visualization Developers with creating datasets using common modeling frameworks
o    Advise Enterprise Architects on best practices relating to BI solution
o    Implement and Review change management standards for BI solutions as an advisor and administrator
o    Participate in data certification and attestation process
o    Understand Enterprise metadata, data lineage, and sourcing procedures
o    Create Automations to help reduce manual intervention and reduce enterprise risk

User-Enablement & Administration
o    Foster relationships with internal business and technology partners
o    Advocate use of BI + visualization tools and demonstrate their value to drive adoption
o    Champion our team as a Center of Excellence for information design and data visualization
o    Serve as Assistant Global Power Platform Administrator, managing a Power BI Premium Capacity
o    Use of deployment pipelines to promote Power Bi reports from development stage to test stage to production environment, in some cases using other specialized tools like Tabular Editor 3 and ALM Toolkit to achieve this for the more complex scenarios

BI Design & Development:
o    Partner with business, operations, and technology to understand reporting and visualization needs. Ask questions to determine appropriate platform, translate requirements into wireframes/storyboards, and make design recommendations.
o    Advocate for automation of manual tasks and challenge status quo
o    Create Enterprise Power BI dashboards and reports
o    Ensure data visualizations align to Barings brand, UX, and design standards
o    Support Power BI reports, including troubleshooting data issues, report syntax, and design

Research:
o    Continuous research into business intelligence, data & information visualization and design best practices. Prepare white papers as needed
o    Identify new technologies to stay on the cutting edge of information design and data visualization; make recommendations for adoption
o    Conceptualize, pitch, develop, and deliver research-inspired projects—both individual and team-based - in support of continuous improvement
o    You will have the opportunity to lead research projects utilizing cutting-edge technologies. This includes idea generation, proof of concept design/development, demonstration of value, analysis of lessons learned, and recommendations for adoption 

Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree. A major in design, engineering, business, finance, data analytics, data science, statistics, mathematics, and/or computer science preferred, but not required with demonstrated experience in field 
•    1–3 years of hands-on tabular data modeling (SSAS, AAS, or PBI Premium) and relational / non-relational databases 
•    1–3 years full-time Microsoft Power BI, as a data modeler, report developer, and Power BI service administrator 
•    Proficient in SQL or other RDBS
•    Advanced understanding of DAX: Calculated Columns, Measures, Formulas, Filters and Contexts
•    Advanced understanding of Power Query
•    Demonstrable experience working with cloud data and architecture, preferably Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Certification on items from Power Platform (Fabric or Power Automate)
