The Chief Development & Strategy Officer (CDSO) will serve as a key architect of the Foundation’s growth strategy and a primary external ambassador. This role will lead fundraising, partnerships, and strategic initiatives while building the operational infrastructure required to scale the Foundation’s impact. Working closely with the CEO, CFO, and COO, the CDSO will design and implement development strategies, cultivate high-value relationships, create flagship initiatives, and establish policies and systems that strengthen governance and operational effectiveness.
Core Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Development
- Lead the design and execution of a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with the Foundation’s pillars
- Cultivate and manage relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic collaborators to build a targeted list of donors.
- Build diversified funding streams, including corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborative philanthropic models
- Implement structured donor stewardship and engagement programs
- Define fundraising goals, KPIs, and reporting systems to track performance and inform strategy
Event & Campaign Strategy
- Develop and manage a strategic calendar of fundraising events
- Design and execute flagship donor experiences and philanthropic initiatives
- Create sponsorship strategies that align corporate partners with Foundation priorities
- Measure event performance, ROI, and donor engagement outcomes
Organizational Infrastructure & Governance
- Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with nonprofit best practices
- Standardize operational workflows across fundraising, partnerships, and initiatives
- Build reporting systems to track donor engagement, fundraising performance, and philanthropic impact
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit governance and regulatory standards
Strategic Growth & Partnerships
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the Foundation’s philanthropic footprint
- Build and maintain partnerships with nonprofits, educational institutions, and community leaders
- Support the development of signature philanthropic initiatives
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning and organizational growth
