We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer/Application Developer in Ridgecrest, CA, to develop breakthrough products and innovative software applications for government and commercial customers. As a software engineer/developer, you work individually or on a small team. The job supports future Distributed Maritime Operations (DMO) Anti-Surface & Strike Warfare (ASuW, STW) Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber and Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting (C5ISR&T) Software Development. This includes integrated architectures for advanced kinetic/non-kinetic targeting systems, mission planning systems, and Composite Warfare Commander (CWC) battle management tactical decision aids.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work with a team lead to define software requirements
Design & develop system software for our customers
Explore new areas or program in new languages to deliver a complete product
Support on-site meetings and deliveries to customers
Basic Qualifications:
Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen. Must have an active Secret Clearance.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (additional experience accepted in lieu of degree)
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of applicable experience, with at least 2 years of software development and/or object-oriented design and programming, ideally including design, coding, and testing experience
Experience with Web Services and JavaScript (e.g., ReactJS)
Hands-on experience with Java, JavaScript, and/or C/C++
Preferred Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Experience with Postgres and MySQL
AWS and Azure experience
Familiarity with Agile and/or DevSecOps procedures
Software Tester / Quality Assurance Specialist (with >2 years of experience in software testing and >1 year of experience in software quality assurance).
DevOps Engineer (with >4 years of experience in configuration control, testing, security, automation, containerization, orchestration, and cloud services open source technologies)
Contractor Product Owner (with >2 years of experience in software management and managing a backlog of requirements)
Additional Notes: The selected applicant may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Basic Compensation: $88,000-$121,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
