The Industrial Maintenance Mechanics responsibilities include: Assuring the entire facility and all of its equipment is maintained in order to produce food products at a high level of quality at the lowest possible cost, in a timely and complete manner.

Reporting Relations
Accountable and Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Positions that Report to you: None
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and ensuring food safety. Report any food safety deviations to your supervisor immediately.
- Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
- Works from a verbal or written list.
- Starts, greases and monitors production machines.
- Repairs, modifies and maintains plant equipment.
- Uses shop equipment such as a drill press, cutting tools, grinders, various other power tools, floor jacks and jack stands, measuring tools such as dial calipers and measuring tapes and levels.
- Works in basic electrical issues including: Changing or repairing 110V AC plugs/outlets/light switches/ drop cords, replacing equipment sensors including 24VDC/110VAC photo eyes, limit switches, proximity sensor, reed switches, etc.
- Assist in providing after hours repairs and consultation as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
- Follows and enforces established HACCP principles.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Attention to detail and follow through.
- Ability to read and interpret laws and regulatory guidelines.
- Must be able to read blueprints and have basic understanding of electrical and small motors.
- Ability to recognize when mechanical components need to be lubricated/oiled/greased.
- Ability to do preventative maintenance to help prolong machinery.
- Ability to carry out common tasks including changing out gear boxes, replacement of low voltage motors, changing out bearings/seals as needed, blade changes, solder together copper piping and fittings.
Education and Experience:
- High School Degree.
- 1-3 years maintenance experience preferred.
- Manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Basic Knowledge/experience with a Digital Multimeter.
Physical Requirements:
This is considered a semi-skilled position. Frequent to constant handling, grasping of paper, constant listening, talking, hearing, writing, seeing, reading, dealing with people, influencing others, and evaluating information.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks.
- Ability to climb, bend, lift and work in areas of limited mobility.
Equipment Used to Perform Job:
Photocopier, fax machine, office telephone system, Microsoft Office. Required to wear steel toed footwear and personal protective wear.
