Job Details:
The Quality Assurance Nurse is responsible for the alignment of quality and safety with Dayton Children’s strategic goals. The Quality Assurance Nurse role is to improve patient experience and outcomes by focusing high reliability processes to identify and reduce serious safety events. The Quality Assurance Nurse will develop an awareness and use of quality measures with issues and events affecting the organization. Quality measure and process improvement activities may include accreditation support, process improvement projects, internal audits, medical and surgical case reviews, coordination with the Department of Clinical Safety, tracking of adverse incidents, and focused and ongoing professional/provider performance evaluation. The Quality Assurance Nurse also assists with ongoing preparedness for regulatory surveys. This position requires knowledge of existing clinical quality measures, and understanding of how measures are developed, and familiarity with clinical quality measures. This position also requires knowledge of regulatory requirements from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, The Joint Commission and the Ohio Department of Health. Conducts analyses of data findings for quality and process improvement and assists in report preparation for internal and external customers. Coordinates projects resulting in continuous improvement of both outcome and processes. Supports the maintenance of a strong quality program, measured processes and reported outcomes. The Quality Assurance Nurse is responsible for providing support, facilitation, and analysis of Performance Improvement projects, clinical performance, and Safety improvement teams.

Education
- BSN in Nursing. Graduation from an accredited program of nursing required; Masters preferred
Certifications
- RN licensure in State of Ohio required
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality within 2 years

- 3+ years preferred
