Cardio Diagnostics Associate is responsible assisting the Manager, ACM, echo supervisor & EKG/MUSE coordinator in the Cardiodiagnostics department with clinical and non-clinical duties. Additionally, they will Receive visitors or patients, ascertain their needs and direct them accordingly. This position will schedule procedures and making sure that the staff is updated throughout the day. This includes checking voicemails, communicating with nurses and techs with regards to schedule changes/cancellations and coordinating with cardiology groups and anesthesiologists with regards to procedure times. You will also be responsible for ordering supplies throughout the department, keeping the supply room orderly and reaching out to different departments, such as facilities, if situations arise. Communication, organization and personal responsibility are key for this position. You will Serve as a back-up for the EKG department when needed, and assist in the Stress lab when needed as well.
This position is Monday through Friday either 6-2:30pm or 6:30 3:00PM
Pay Range
$20.80 - $31.20Major Responsibilities: Assists coordinators with day to day activities 1)Assisting coordinators with day to day operations of the cardiodiagnostics department. 2)Ordering/stocking supplies and keeping supply rooms in order. Responsible for Iron mountain off site storage. 3)Edit reports and input data to Xcelera as needed. 4)Minimal typing and knowledge of excel required. 5)Patient transport when needed. Performs all job duties under the strictest “customer service” standards according to established policies and procedures. 7)Promote increased utilization of CHMC services by maintaining customer-focused responses. 8)Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives. 9)Responsible for outpatient call backs to ensure patient satisfaction. 1)Greets and acknowledges patients and family members in a professional and welcoming manner. 2)Utilizes appropriate telephone etiquette. 3)Assures patient and patient family members confidential information is handled according to established guidelines, policies and procedures. 4)Addresses and handles patient and patient family members according to the specific needs of the patient (i.e. under various conditions/situations such as patients who display signs of illness, patients who are elderly or very young, patients who display signs of medical disability, etc.). 5)Maintains professional composure and demeanor under stressful situations 6)Directs or escorts patients to service areas if required. Participates in the facilitation of patients at the front desk to proper departments and keeps flow of front desk moving in a positive direction. 1)Notifies department of patient’s arrival. 2)Monitors patients in waiting room to ensure prompt service. 3)Answers phones and informs department team leaders of information as needed. 4)Retrieves reports and faxes same to physician offices as needed. Assist with clinical duties in the EKG and Stress lab. 1)Will serve as a back-up Cardidagnostic tech 1 to perform EKG's when needed due to unscheduled and scheduled PTO 2)Will assist with doing EKG's in the ED department when needed due to increased volume. 3)Will assist the stress lab to prep patients during times of increased volume or during low staffing. Education/Experience Required: High school diploma 2-3 year previous EKG experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Knowledge of Microsoft office products. Good oral and written Communications skills Ability to perform EKGs and Identify cardiac arrhythmias Certified by NCCT as a NCET, or an Equivalent certification within 6 months of employment. CPR/BLS certified CPR and BLS Certified within 6 months Of employment Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to collaborate with customers, both internal and external for the purpose of answering requests to the cardiodiagnostics department. Ability to lift and or move patients. Ability to work under Stressful conditions and in difficult situations. Ability to stoop, bend and stand for extended periods of time. May be exposed to hazardous materials and life threatening diseases. This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of age groups of patients treated (i.e. understanding child growth and development, normal Patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging). Prior experience with various age groups is preferred If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
