Pay Range

Research Fellow, PhD required.

Background in immunology with a skillset in single cell isolation and flow cytometry, including the ability to design, execute, and analyze complex panels is a requirement. 
Expertise in proteomics analysis as well as click-chemistry isolation of proteins for cell-type specific proteomics is required.

1. Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as psychology, neuroscience, biology, medicine or basic science.

2. Excellent written and oral communication skills

General Work Description

Manage multiple research projects, coordinating daily laboratory operations, study implementation, progress evaluation, and reporting for two senior research faculty members. Design, perform, and analyze animal-based behavioral, pharmacological, and wet-lab experiments in accordance with approved IACUC protocols. Maintain transgenic and wild-type mouse colonies, including husbandry, genotyping, surgeries, health monitoring, and tissue collection. Perform molecular biology, protein biochemistry and  RNA sequencing, and computational/bioinformatic analyses. Specific skills in single cell sequencing and data analysis are required. Background in immunology with a skillset in single cell isolation and flow cytometry, including the ability to design, execute, and analyze complex panels is a requirement. Expertise in proteomics analysis as well as click-chemistry isolation of proteins for cell-type specific proteomics is required. Lead data acquisition, quality control, statistical analysis, and integration across behavioral, biochemical, neurophysiological, and large-scale datasets. Develop and maintain data science and computational infrastructure to support in-lab and remote analyses. Generate publication-quality figures and lead the preparation of manuscripts, research reports, conference presentations, and preliminary data for publications and grant applications. Investigate neuroimmune mechanisms underlying psychiatric disease, including gut–brain interactions, using interdisciplinary and translational research approaches. Collaborate closely with the senior Principal Investigator, collaborating clinicians, and interdisciplinary teams (internal and external to Advocate) to support basic, translational, and clinical research, including protocol development and data interpretation. Mentor and may indirectly supervise subordinate laboratory personnel (graduate students and technicians) to ensure data quality, organization, regulatory compliance, and effective dissemination of research findings. Assist the Principal Investigator(s) with grant preparation, regulatory submissions (e.g., NIH, FDA), and strategic scientific planning.
