Experience (Years/Type) Ne T Three Years Experience As A Sngrapher Preferred. Certification/Licensure (including annual requirements) •Eligible for, or possession of, a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification. Equipment (Experience And/Or Training) •Ultrasound Equipment. Specialized Training •Must Have An Understanding Of Pathology, Including A Knowledge Of Diseases, Anomalies And Abnormalities Which Influence Performance Of Procedures. Computer Skills (Hardware & Software) •Crt/Hospital Computer System. Other Skills And Competencies •Demonstrates Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal. Diplomacy, Tact, And A Positive Approach To Problem Solving Are Required To Be Successful. Organizational Skills Are A Must. Fosters A Teamwork Environment. Must Be Able To Communicate With Patients, Customers, Other Departments, And Staff In An Articulate Manner.

Job Description:

1.Performs all routine and special ultrasound procedures. Demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning and protocols according to department policy and procedure. Performs all duties assigned. 2.Receives consultation request, checking for special instructions form the requesting physician. Consults with the Radiologist as necessary. Completely explains examination procedure to the patient and his/her family, if present. 3.Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, room numbers, and technique factors. Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs other paperwork as needed. 4.Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room or workstation, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items. 5.Transport patients as needed. 6.Age Specific Competency: Staff members will have knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and have the ability to meet the needs of and provide the care of these patients. The age categories to be included are: Neonatal/Infant: 0 - 11 months; Pediatrics: 1 - 12 years; Adolescence: 13 - 17 years; Young Adult/Adult: 18 - 64 years; Adult/Middle-Aged: 65 - 79 years; Geriatric: 80+ years
