GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Provides outpatient behavioral health therapy to clients. The therapist works in collaboration with other clinical staff and community support providers to provide the high quality integrated services.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Functions autonomously in providing clinical therapy to clients.  Works collaboratively with other care team members.  Conduct intake assessments.  Provides individual and group psychotherapy to clients with a variety of acute and chronic behavioral health disorders and mental health conditions with a focus on chronic pain  Provides clinical consultation and education programs to BMC staff and/or community Maintain involvement with in-service training experiences  Maintain current documentation of all clinical services provided in accordance with department and organization standards.  Perform other duties as assigned  Maintain current Iowa Social Work License.

MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS

Master's Social Work degree from accredited educational institution  Current social LMSW, LMHC or LMFT license with State of Iowa  Knowledge in crisis intervention techniques and brief therapy  Ability to work cooperatively with a multi-disciplinary team  Clinical experience in evaluation, assessment and multi-axial diagnoses of adults.

PREFERRED OUALIFICATIONS

Two years' experience in mental health or similar discipline post-Master's dealing with persons with mental health and behavioral disturbances  Licensed independent social worker  Experience in managing crisis situation in an independent area or practice  Experience in the treatment of chemically dependent persons
