Job Description:
1.Opens the center. Greets all patients, representatives of patients, and visitors cheerfully and by name (if possible) upon their arrival at the office. 2.Receive and screen all telephone calls coming into the clinic courteously, identifying self by name, and immediately directs the call to proper person or takes a message if the person is busy at the time of the call. The phone is answered by the third ring. Will also schedule all patient appointments and follow up on missed appointments. 3.Keep waiting room, bathrooms, and foyer neat, with daily checks prior to opening in the morning and after lunch. 4.As applicable to Center, make bank deposits bi-weekly (Tues. and Fri.) and keep sufficient cash in the office for daily transactions. 5.As applicable to Center, collect all self pay monies from patients for services rendered at end of each visit. 6.Assist in securing department at the end of the day, ensuring that all doors and glass windows are locked and lights/office equipment are turned off. 7.Assist the PA/Medical Provider and/or nurse with administrative responsibilities as instructed. Distributes office mail. Explains tasks and provides minimal supervision of volunteers. 8.As applicable to Center, close total cash batch by 5:00pm. Make the bank deposit to equal the amount of monies collected that day. 9.If applicable, make referral appointments for patients as directed, providing the patient with all pertinent information needed regarding the referral. 10.Keep the office supply inventory, surveying the inventory weekly and ordering supplies as warranted. Keep log of supplies received or back-ordered. 11.As applicable to Center, keep cash drawer balanced, checking the total daily before and after the days transactions. Notify the coordinator immediately if a discrepancy is found. 12.Explain to patients delays, reasons for such delays, and approximate time that delay shall last before they are seen. 13.If applicable, scan lab results and patient notes received from outside sources daily, ensuring that the PA/FNP/MD has reviewed, initialed, and dated them. 14.Maintain an effective patient survey process. 15.Perform other clerical duties as neededAt Scotland Health Care System, we’re proud to employ a team of dedicated professionals who embody the Scotland Way.
