Residential Treatment Worker - Residential Services - 3p-11p

Under the supervision of the Residential Services Manager, this position assists in the development and implementation of individual program and residential treatment plans; serves as advocate and role model for clients; plans and supervises client activities; assists clients with community integration; and documents observations and results of all interventions; upholds client rights including confidential and maintenance of the residents. Employee is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe and healthy environment.

Schedule 

Position is generally scheduled full-time evenings Monday-Friday and every other weekend, 3pm-11pm (40 hours per week).

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or mental illness.

  • Ability to teach, educate and role model the skills necessary for clients to pursue more independent living.

  • Valid Iowa driver’s license and proof of individual insurance.

  • Ability effectively speak, read, and write in English.

  • Ability to successfully complete and pass First Aid, CPR and BMC designated behavior management training during orientation period and maintain all certifications throughout employment.

  • Ability to physically respond to and manage client behavior challenges utilizing BMC approved and trained behavioral management techniques.

  • Ability to teach, train and model the skills necessary for clients to pursue more independent living.

  • Ability to complete a state approved medication aide course and to complete medication administration accurately.
