Inpatient Pharmacy Technician 
The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician assists with the preparation and dispensing of medications for patients served by Broadlawns Medical Center Inpatient Pharmacy.  All duties are performed under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Schedule 
8-Hour Shifts
M-F - Variable (This position provides coverage for morning and evening technician shifts as well as providing mid-shift overlap coverage.)
Weekend Rotation: Sat & Sun 3pm - 11pm

Qualifications 

• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of employment

• Currently Have Pharmacy Technician Certification or successful completion of the Certified Pharmacy Technician examination within 12 months of beginning position

• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, coworkers, and vendor partners 

• Math aptitude with the ability to perform dosage or quantity calculations accurately

• Experience with Pyxis Automated Dispensing Cabinets is preferred

• Experience with sterile IV compounding is preferred

• Knowledge of medical terminology, including generic and brand name pharmaceuticals
