Brown & Brown is Seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team in Garden City, NY.

The Underwriting Assistant is the key connection between the Underwriters and the brokers for programs of Wright Specialty. They foster, maintain and grow the service relationship with our brokers. In each business model the Underwriting Assistant is also responsible for working with our Marketing and Underwriting teams to ensure that support for our clients is always of the highest standard.

How You Will Contribute

• Responsible for reviewing new business submissions within 24-48 hours.
• Request any missing information needed from the broker.
• Send Tasks to CSR assigned.
• Review completed rated submission prior to sending over to Underwriter.
• Request Loss Control Inspections.
• Issue New Business.
• Follow-up for missing subjectivities.
• Follow- up with broker on lost opportunities.
• Maintain Image-right Files.
• Works with assigned team to include Underwriter and CSR.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with brokers and marketing.
• Assist Underwriters with special projects.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful

• Minimum education — High School
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Exceptional telephone demeanor
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Pay Range

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
