Brown & Brown is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Business Analyst to join our growing team in Garden City, NY!
The Workers Compensation Claims Business Analyst serves as a liaison between business and technical teams to lead system implementations, analyze and document requirements, coordinate testing and training, and support ongoing process improvements using project management and business analysis best practices.
How You Will Contribute:
Assists in monitoring and coordinating implementation of small, medium or large-scale systems throughout the organization, utilizing project management principles and tools.
Leads and performs requirements analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement documents are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible and unambiguous.
Utilizes a variety of techniques and tools to elicit business / system requirements – including interviews, surveys, requirements workshops, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
Combines business and technical knowledge to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with business and technical stakeholders to define and document business and/or system requirements in accordance with defined standards and methodologies.
Suggests improvements / solutions that enhance existing business processes.
Facilitates business planning and prioritization of requirements based on business value.
Develop test plans/matrices/criteria to facilitate quality assurance / acceptance testing of system deliverables.
Performs quality assurance / acceptance testing of system deliverables as required.
Develops training materials as well as conducts training to WIG staff on new system implementations, enhancements or modifications.
Augments and supports WIG Help Desk operations regarding problem identification, triage and resolution of issues pertaining to business systems.
Develops Requests for Information/Proposal documentation regarding software searches and analyzes vendor responses of same.
Capable of performing data analysis using a variety of tools as necessary.
Possesses the ability to lead internal/external teams as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Minimum of 2 to 5 years' work experience in a business analyst role, leading and/or supporting insurance system implementations / operations.
Bachelor's Degree in business and/or technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered along with applicable professional certifications (CPCU, PMI-PBA, IIBA…).
Knowledge of insurance industry with a strong understanding of Claims, Underwriting and Financial operations desired in one or all the following – Commercial P&C, Professional Liability, and Workers Compensation lines.
Ability to express ideas clearly, effectively and professionally in both verbal and written communication.
Excellent project, organizational and time management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
Prior experience in insurance operations, especially with claims, is required.
Understanding of insurance needs associated with workers compensation claims handling required.
Pay Range
$75k - $90k AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
