The Claims Co-op will provide support to the Coverys Claim Department with an emphasis on the thoughtful gathering, review, and synthesis of claim files to obtain information regarding various critical data points.  Other projects include gathering, verifying, and correcting data for import into the system.  This position will also gain insight into the role of a Claim Consultant and offer opportunities to attend litigation-related events.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gathering and review of claim files to identify various critical data points.

  • Review of weekly and monthly reports to assess status of claim files and timely entry of data.

  • Review case files to determine if case remains active and determine disposition status.

  • Gather, verify, and correct data for import into Claim system. 

  • Partner and communicate with Coverys Claims department and members of IT team as needed.

  • Accurately enter information into claim management software platform and/or other IT systems.

  • Attend and observe litigation related events including depositions, mediations and/or trials.

  • Conduct periodic observation and shadowing of Claim Consultants and the day-to-day handling of claim files.

Education, Requirements & Competencies

  • Must be a current student working towards a bachelor’s degree.  Business or communications focus preferred.

  • General knowledge and experience with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams) required.

  • Demonstrated ability to enter data accurately from multiple sources.

  • Must have strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
