The Underwriting Co-Op will be introduced to world of insurance through a variety of projects that will support the department in improving efficiencies around workflow. The Co-Op will also have opportunity to collaborate with members of the Underwriting department along with other business units working in tandem to successfully achieve project goals. The Co-Op will be encouraged to provide innovative and new ideas to streamline the department’s resource centers.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters to provide clerical and administrative support to the team.

  • Assist in projects that create data efficiencies and enhance the workflow for the Underwriting department.

  • Manage workflow queues and conduct timely and thorough reviews of all assignments in a manner that supports the department goals for turnaround time, and that meet the department’s file quality and risk selection expectations.

  • Work within the Salesforce platform and record submission data.

  • Route correspondences and other matters that are beyond the Co-op’s assigned authority to appropriate team member for evaluation.

 

Education, Requirements & Competencies

  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

  • Ability to learn the use of new software applications as required. 

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment with the expectation of enhancing and contributing to the offices overall effectiveness and success.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
