Summary

To provide leadership and integrate FTZ compliance in areas of Imports and Exports, with a focus on daily operational issues that involved communication with warehouse operations, accounting, procurement and outbound team. This position will report to LRTC (Corporate Compliance). Ability to quickly and firmly, interact to address procedural issues or problems.
An FTZ administrator/zone operator ensures compliance with and control over government rules and regulations.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records/transactions, ensure inventory balances are maintained accurately in Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) system, make appropriate adjustments. Identify any inefficient processes and/or issues to escalation for proper resolution.
  • FTZ administrator is involved in the FTZ daily duties which include FTZ admissions (e-214), review withdrawals for exportation and importation IT (QP/WP CBP forms 7512), review and submit 7501 customs duties for cycle count, inventory adjustments, imports shipped to U.S customs territory. Maintain proper record keeping required for management of the FTZ, audit FTZ documentation, including but not limited to customs filings, inventory control and recordkeeping.
  • Review scrap, destructions (CBPF 216) with Customs supervision and submit yearly Blanket (CBPF 216).
  • Interact with Customs and Border Protection if necessary and provide annual inventory and cumulative report.
  • Remain current on regulations and policies by participating in, and in some cases providing, continuing education related to FTZ operations, CBP compliance and related topics. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending internal/external educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establish and expand professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Manage new item set-up for compliance requirements, to include HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, FTA’s, PGA’s and Audit of existing materials.
  • Provide annual and quarterly FTZ reports (Annual reconciliation, FTZ board report) to Grantee (Broward County). Create and submit Harbor Maintenance fee report for payment to Customs.
  • Employee works directly with warehouse team, going into the warehouse for viewing, reviewing inventory items to maintain inventory accuracy and compliance requirements, meeting with US customs for any spot check audit and destruction of merchandise, always following all safety standard requirements.

What You Need

Bachelor’s degree and typically 8 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of 19 CFR (CBP rules and regulations) is paramount. Must be able to interpret various regulations: FDA, EPA, DOT, CBP, etc. Excellent knowledge of import and export programs, including Free Trade Agreements, CFR Title 19, ACE, HTS classification, and PGA regulations.

Salary: $85,000-95,000
