Summary
GMBI is seeking a professional with experience to promote safety and health through analyzing and eliminating potential hazards through implementation and monitoring of all aspects of the Health and Safety Program at the GMBI lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Facility.What You'll Do
Compile, analyze, and interpret accident, loss, and exposure statistical data; prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards.
Develop, direct, manage and coordinate policies and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, RCRA, SARA Title III, TSCA, CAA, CWA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, and NIOSH directives
Minimize safety, health, and environmental impact through means of risk assessment, job hazards analysis, and facility assessment
Assess the degree of compliance with applicable regulations and standards, develop and recommend changes and modifications to a broad range of work processes, equipment operations and protective devices to minimize potentially hazardous work environments to employees and damage to company property.
Collaborate with multiple locations throughout the organization to review current systems, processes, assess shortcomings, analyze options for improvement, and implement solutions.
Support incident investigations; determine root cause; develop corrective actions and implement process changes. Monitor trends and champion injury/illness reduction.
Develop and lead programs, and initiatives which drive employee engagement and participation in the HSE management system.
What You Need
B.S in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, or Industrial Hygiene.
5+ Years of prior job-related safety experience in chemical manufacturing, process safety management, battery manufacturing, battery recycling, or other similarly related field.
CSP, MSP, CSD, CIH (at least one certification is required)
CCPSC or CHMM preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
Ability to conduct industrial hygiene testing/monitoring and interpret results.
Ability to interpret environmental testing and monitoring results.
Must have the ability to coach and be coached.
Strong analytical skills with creative problem-solving skills.
Climbing ladders, working at elevated heights, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and frequent walking or standing.
Employees must have good (corrected) vision and be able to pass respiratory fit testing and medical evaluations, with reasonable accommodation provided as needed.
Travel
Domestic and occasional international travel may be required.
